As we come to the close of the 2011-2012 school year, I would like to congratulate our student-athletes on their continued success both in the academic arena as well as on the athletic field this year. Hopefully, your participation in Athletics has provided you with the personal satisfaction of hard work and determination, and the thrill of competition but also the tools that promote sportsmanship, leadership, dedication, and reinforce positive life lessons.
Our high school and middle school spring sports seasons will be wrapping up in the next few weeks. Required forms for athletic participation for the 2012-2013 school year will be available after May 15, 2012 through this website (student forms-home page) or at your local schools. A reminder to in-coming 9th graders wishing to preserve their high school athletic eligibility, you must wait until the school year is complete to have any/all athletic contact with high school teams or coaches.
Sportsmanship and safety education continues to be top priorities for our coaches as well as the student-athletes. Our annual coach's training expanded on the nationally recognized Positive Coaching Alliance training for the third consecutive year. Coaches are also required to have CPR/AED certification, as well as receive continuing education on concussion management.
The continued support and contributions made by our student-athletes, parents, volunteers, school personnel, officials, and community members are greatly appreciated and vital to maintaining our already exemplary athletic program. Our thanks go out to you.
Again, congratulations to all of our student-athletes and best of luck to our graduation seniors.
