Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. We look forward to continued success from our student-athletes both in the academic arena as well as on the athletic field. Athletics help provide our students with the tools that promote sportsmanship, leadership, dedication, and reinforce positive life lessons.
Our winter sports are moving into play-off competition and spring sports will begin try-outs/practice in January and February. Required forms are available through this website (student forms-home page) or at the school sites. I encourage those students who are interested in becoming a part of the upcoming season to contact their home school prior to that date for specific try-out times and information. Middle Schools will have volleyball and flag football in the spring.
Sportsmanship and safety education will continue to be top priorities for our coaches as well as the student-athletes. Our annual coach's training will expand on the nationally recognized Positive Coaching Alliance training introduced last year. Coaches will also be required to have CPR/AED certification, as well as receive continuing education on concussion management.
The continued support and contributions made by our student-athletes, parents, volunteers, school personnel, officials, and community members are greatly appreciated and vital to maintaining our already exemplary athletic program. Our thanks go out to you.
